Sea-going vessels: General Terms and Conditions & Rates

On 1 January 2011 the General Terms and Conditions came into force for sea-going vessels using the port. The General Terms and Conditions include the rates and the related port water map. The document is also available in Dutch:

Alterations 2012 (with regards to 2011)

The most important changes in the General Terms and Conditions and List of Rates 2012 are as followed:

  • In 2012, the rates for sea harbour, quay, buoy and dolphin dues are subject to a 1% structural increase in respect of 2011. However, a one-off compensation payment of 1% will be made on rates for the sea harbour, quay, buoy and dolphin dues for 2012.
  • The rate for sea harbour dues for coal have been raised by an extra 3,5%.
  • A new rate has been introduced for sea going vessels not sailing in scheduled service with woodchips on board.
  • The rates and definitions for private and commercial pleasure boats have been removed.
  • The incentive scheme for Environmental Ship Index (ES-Index) has been placed in the list of rates.
  • The exemption regulation for waiting seagoing vessels at quays, boys and dolphins only applies to vessels that visit the port of Amsterdam to load or unload.
  • The article concerning lack of- or incorrect statement has been changed

Rates for Maritime Services

The Port of Amsterdam will be charging expenses for services that involve vessels, officials and for providing material. The rates that apply for these activities can be found in the list of rates.

Rates for Port Waste Products

Each ship must surrender its ship waste and cargo residues to a port reception facility. The Amsterdam Seaports are providing facilities for each type of waste. Click here to see the rates.
