Haven Amsterdam

Sailing safely

The covenant Sailing Safely! stimulates safety for professional and recreational shipping on waterways. The Port of Amsterdam participates in the covenant and helped to draw up detailed maps with advisory routes. The project is aimed at reducing the number of (near) accidents on the waterway between professional and recreation ship, and the general feeling of unsafety.

Film

What is the best way for shippers to respond to difficult situations? How should they  prepare for their journey? The information film 'Sailing safely' answers these questions. The film makes recreational and professional shippers aware of the rules and safety risks on water. To watch an introduction, and order a free copy of the DVD click on the link of the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management.
